The Cowgirl Story
Hi, Cowgirls! My name is Jaz, and I'm on a mission to create the hottest new lesbian social space. As a current barista with a (slightly feral) craving for caffeine and catch-ups, I’ve launched a new coffee brand. Let’s introduce her.
Cowgirl Espresso Bar is a new lesbian-centered space rooted in the core values of Social, Connection, and Community. Coming out in my early twenties meant experiencing a major transitional period in my life—one that didn’t necessarily shock me (hello, catching feelings for my childhood best friend). But honestly, I craved that community—the sense of belonging that’s essential for fulfilling social needs.
To go a little deeper on why Cowgirl is so important to me, I felt like I was introduced to an entirely different existence when I started attending lesbian social events and immersing myself in the community. Everywhere I looked, I saw commonality, mutual understanding, and I saw myself. It’s a feeling I can’t quite put into words, but after years of hiding my true, authentic self, I finally felt seen. I finally felt like me. If it wasn’t for these lesbian and queer women-centered events and spaces, I genuinely don’t think I would have as much confidence, happiness, or authenticity today.
My mission is to create these spaces and events for other lesbians and queer women—those questioning their sexuality and identity, those craving community and that all-important sense of belonging, and those wanting to champion the LGBTQ+ community. But what will you see from us? Think the CUTEST little pink coffee truck, social events, and eventually, a permanent home.
